Dleerious and I were talking in the Welcome thread, about WoW, and it got me thinking.

What are you (if any) experiences with WoW?

- been there since the stress test, although have quit at least three times in a major way.
- FOR THE HORDE!
- Although i love playing every character class, every starting place, taking in everything I can.
- Mostly a solo guy, I play for the experience and enjoyment.
- I level really slowly. Got a 61 Tauren Hunter, every other char is low-level, one auction house dude, and some others I'll level.
- Except I'm out. Quit a few months ago. And trying to stay away.
- But miss the awesomeness that is Blizzard. And after the announcement of D3 (awww yeah, new thread topic) I need some Bliz-love.

Anyone else?

Grrrrrr. World of warcraft people....grrrrr....whats wrong with you.... I say this slowly... EVERQUEST 2(just kidding).

I would love to try WOW, but I just can't justify playing 2 MMORPG's.

They are similar in nature though.

I also solo mostly, or duo with hubby, so slow to level. Was a complete addict before the light of my life was born. Belong to a small guild, who are family orientated, so there is no fuss about guild commitments.
My favourite toon is a wizard (L76), but I also have a mystic, a necromancer and a bard.

Sorry if I am hijacking the thread Unguru.

I'm a wow-junkie also, although I don't play like I used to.
I tried Tabula Rasa (the name is latin for "blank slate").
It was supposed to be the first good combining of a game like wow and a first person shooter. I got 2 toons to level 14 and couldnt solo from there.
I liked playing with other people when my sons and I used to gather our computers for the weekend and all play (wow) in my living room. But as for waiting for pick up groups to quest with, I'd rather solo. I'm not a strong pvp player so I didn't do much in games like Counterstrike and America's Army, except provide cannon-fodder for others to practice on, lol!

Not surprisingly - I tried Tabula Rasa too. Just couldn't get into it.
I was looking for something space orientated as I was feeling nastalgic for Earth and Beyond. One of the best games ever. Also tried Eve, but it just wasn't what Earth and Beyond was.

same here, couldn't get into Tabula Rasa.
I didn't try Eve Online, but read a story online about the takeover and (ingame) assassination of a major organization. It was, according to the article, the biggest ingame overthrowing of a group/org.

I guess, for now, we'll just have to settle for plotting World of Biggie-craft!!!

heh

I've always enjoyed online games, and have always been extremely wary of MMORPGs- too addictive and scary! I would like to, some day.
In terms of online play, I've tried:

Neverwinter Nights
Diablo
Diablo 2 (More addictive than most, even though
it's so unsophisticated!)
Giants
Quake 3
Halo
Counter-Strike
Team Fortress
Age of Empires
Age of Empires 2
Age of Mythology
Dawn of War

Probably some others too. Anyone tried any of those?

I have played pretty much all the Age of X games, and enjoyed them immensly. I never played them in a multiplayer environment however, always just single player.

MMPORPG can be addictive, but I think like most things it is up to the individual. Some poeple have a lot time on hand so they can spend hours online.
Me - its my little wind-down for a couple of hours before I hit the sack. More entertaining and less irritating than TV.

I agree, WoW can only get out of control if the individual lets it.
I also agree that its a better wind down than tv because of its interactive nature. I play about 3 to 4 nights a week, for about 1 or 2 hours.

I've tried many games but played/completed few.
I liked:
Red Faction
Max Payne (bought MP2 but didnt finish it)
GTA had me hooked for a while there.
Warcraft1
Warcraft2
Warcraft3 (didn't finish 4th race)
I liked Starcraft but didnt finish it.
.....and the list goes on.

I still don't have a level 70 toon in WoW.
My Pally (orig toon) is 64, and I have a 53 hunter.
I find it quite relaxing, hunting and skinning before I turn in for the night.

Dave

ps, did anyone play Battle Realms???
that was another good one.

Anyone had a look at Age of Conan yet? It looks really good, but I don't have the specs to play it, and I can't justify upgrading for the sake of a game. Sad

I just pulled up the sys req's on it and my home pc is a bit behind the times to play it. My new work laptop meets the req's tho, I should see if there's a demo avail.

I'm a big game junky , if i haven't played it i've seen it and know someone whos got it lol

I stoped playing wow about 6 months ago as i've done everything in game i could , got every class to 70 and did all the end game content , got very boaring in the end , now i play eve which is pretty cool , but takes ages to learn anything as its time based anyways lol ..

as far as AOC ( age of conan ) goes i've heard conflicting reports about it from friends , some say its great some say its a waist of cash , everything i have red about it and see in person is that the graphics are awsome , but they rushed the game out , so any content after lvl 20 is poo lol

as far as any new mmropgs coming out i'm looking forward to getting into warhammer online , i used to paint the models etc when i was younger so thats probley one reason i'm defentaly going to get it when it comes out , but not only that it looks great .

another weird kinda rpg/fps thats coming out is called huxley its suposed to be ground breaking in lots of ways but has been put on the back burner time and time again so who knows when its due out , but defenatly one to keep your eye on if your into fps

and of course there is always D3 coming out from bliz not to sure yet how that one will pan out as they are still making expansions to World of Warcraft , i can't see them making expansions when people would change across to D3 instead so D3 will more then likely for one reason or another be postponed

wow Dashel (no pun intended)

you really are a game junkie, or at least a wow-junkie, lol
I'm curious what your total /played time was in wow?

I leveled a human pally on the zul'jin server to 60, mostly solo, and took my sweet time getting there. I had 29 days on the odometer when I got to 60. To level each class, you must have a bleep-load of time played!
