I was just reading the first few pages of The Barbed Coil and I was very pulled into the story. The main character was interesting in that she was more defined by her character flaws than anything else. her main flaw was she had trouble doing basic tasks. Another good aspect of the begining was the very short prologue: one page of the antagonist and a short pretend newspaper article. It is an awesome begining. I think normally I am not very impressed with the beginings of books.
