I agree with Sharla, writing is hard stuff, especially if you're starting out. Recently I too have contracted the Writer's Bug and I often find myself falling short of the mark. I guess types like us have to keep putting one finger in front of the other and who knows, maybe, just maybe, we'll finish something we're proud to call "a dang good piece of literature."

My name's Tharon by the way, and I'm new to this forum.

I appreciate the warm reception, theUnguru. Also, thanks for noticing the "post on Halo," which was not meant in any way to demean your previous post on shooters. "Ahem."

I haven`t visited jvj.com for a few years and I must say I`m delighted to find a messageboard here. :D

I`m a long time reader of fantasy books and I`m happy to say the Sword of Shadows books are truly among the best books I`ve ever read. I`m also a bookseller by profession, and I promise to do my share in selling the books...

I`m 36 years old and live in Norway. My two sons are 8 and 10 and aspire to make computer games when hey grow up. In my spar(s)e time I have way to many hobbies for my own good, but amongst them are reading books, playing computer games, pen and paper role playing games, making computer games, learning C# programming, carpentering my house, building a garage, spending nights in my lean-to, walking the woods, making bows, teaching my boys all I know even though they find it awfully uninteresting at times.... :o ... oh, and now there`s a full moon outside, heh, meaning easter is early this year. :) Where was I again? Ah, jvj.com message boards, boring the members.... :D

The Treespook, it's good to see you here. I'm new to these forums, too. You say you live in Norway, huh. I'm an American but I'm currently living in Saint Petersburg. I definitely want to make my way out to Norway in about a month or so, but I think I'm only going to get as far as Sweden before turning around and heading back to Russia. I hear great things about Norway, and I have a fascination for anything Viking. Anyway, It’s good to have you here. If you have any recommendations for places to see in Estonia, Sweden, Finland, and Norway do tell. I’m always game for wilderness escapes and not just drifting around urban zones.

Hi everyone!

I too have been visiting JVJ's website on and off for years now. I actually wrote an email telling Ms Jones about one of her books I found in New Zealand, back in -97 I think it was, and was delighted to recieve a personal reply from her (at least I think it was personal).
And today I found this forum. Great!
I live in the south of Sweden and own a small bookstore here.
So of course my question is: when is Ms Jones dropping by on a booksigningtour here?
I'll check out the other posts here and I'm sure there'll be much to talk about.

Take care,
Magnus

Hello y'all. Like others, I have been subscribed to the RSS feed for quite a while, just never got around to joining the boards. I'm a huge fan of Miss Jones since I read Baker's Boy about 6 or 7 years ago.

I confess though...I have not read Red Ice yet  , as it had been a while since I read the first two so I'm re-reading them and I'm about halfway through the first one.

My reading time has been cut down of late as the wife and I had a baby in January. Other than that, I live in NC and also have three dogs. Besides reading epic fantasy, I play a lot of xbox.

Look forward to checking back in with y'all later. I'm going to go snoop around the other threads now.

Second Unguru on that. Congratulations krossmojination on the birth of your baby. May he / she bring you many years of pride and joy. I know how you feel. It took me 6 months to read 6 chapters of the book I was busy with at the time of my daughters birth. After that it got easier again. I also started reading out loud to her. This worked well for both of us. I think we both find it a little more interesting than "Baby has a bath", and other such titles that you get for newborns.
