Just to say, I think the messageboard/ forum is a really nice touch. I don't know whether you enjoy the interaction, or whether its largely troublesome at the moment, but I think I'd like to say thanks.
As for the website as a whole, it's pretty good. Better than most other fantasy authors'. The design is clean, and at the moment things are fairly up to date in certain places.
That said, there are a few links which need modernising around the website, otherwise it can look a bit outdated and neglected; eg the 'Meet' section, which doesn't match the themes of the rest of the site, and the 'Email' option has never worked for me (Hey, maybe that's part of the plan ).
One other thing. I think the British cover art for 'A Sword from Red Ice' is far better than the US one. That's just my opinion, but I personally find the US art a bit garish and off putting. But then it's the bigger market. Up to you, but I think the UK artwork would be a better centrepiece for the site.
Keep up the great work.
John

Thanks, John. As far as the website goes, my brother Paul and I do what we can. He'd do more actually, but although he can change the look and feel of the site, he can't change the content without my input. So if things are dated, that's my fault.

Thanks for the kind words!
It's worth noting that J's web site has been running since the mid 90's. Back then, sites like Google were mere glints in the eyes of their eventual creators. I don't even think Microsoft had a web site back then (Bill Gates didn't think the internet was relevant ).
So this site contains more old pages than most. To bring them all up to date would take a fair amount of time and effort; time that would probably be better spent creating new pages and content. That said, there are some pages which no longer function because of their age (we may have to forgo the nostalgia and start deleting).
As for the 'Email' button, that's just a simple link and should launch your local email client when clicked.
Anyway, we really hope you all enjoy visiting the site. At the end of the day that's the only thing that really matters.
-Paul

I think you guys have reason to be proud of the sites age, though I'd tend to agree that broken links aren't the best show-off display. An update or housecleaning now and then isn't too bad but thinking a bit, there could probably be a "nostalgia" corner, so to speak. Put emphasis on the fact that this is the longest running author website in history, not a random afterthought to market a book series. From sounds of it you people saw the signs of time before most others. I think that is pretty cool!

I have been enjoying this website since close to its beginning. I wonder if you should get more credit then you do because it’s become almost a requirement now for an author to have a website. I think its one of the best new things for publishing to come along in a long, long time, at least since I started reading non-picture books. I've never been one to care about posting on the web, until discussion boards for my favorite books and genres started popping-up.
I've been addicted to tales of adventure and heroism since I got my first Superboy comic at age four. I would truly be lost if I didn't have a book to escape into. But what I've found frustrating is that so few other adults I know read fiction/novels, so it can be almost lonely not having others to talk with about that an exciting new book or series. Websites like these give me a place to meet with others and finally be able to talk to other fans. _________________ Reviewer on www.FanLit.net

Guilty as charged. Yeah, I have to be honest and say I'm not one of life's great readers. There are so many distractions nowadays, mostly technology-based, and I've had my head turned by just about all of them.
Ironically, the biggest distraction of all is the internet itself. That said, I don't think anyone would wish to be without all the benefits it brings. Although the endless stream of information can be overwhelming at times, whether you're a casual reader or a full-on bookworm, it's also a precious resource. Then there's the social factor. As you say, Greg, finding somewhere to meet like-minded people is priceless.
