What I did on Sunday Photo

Postby Angel on Tue Sep 23, 2008 4:29 pm

Is anyone able to see the photo for the entry " What I did on Sunday"? It's not loading for me and I was just wondering if it was my computer or if anyone else was having a problem with it. Thanks

Its a low res clip of our death defying author, announcing in what sounds like a slightly nervous voice, that she's about to slide down the "cable of death." Then she slides down, or rather, across, without a single noise, save for the whine of the cable device itself. Finally, she waves from the distant platform, as if to signal that she's still, in fact, alive and that BookIV will be coming as scheduled!

lol, rock on JV!

Oh I see!!! My work does not allow video clips like that so it never loaded! I watched it from home on my laptop and it was wonderful! You were very brave!!! I know they have ziplining in Costa Rica in really high trees! I don't think I'd be able to do it though lol! Bravo!

The zip lining was fun. However, by the time I'd reached that point my knees were jelly and my heart was racing (that's the squeaky voice of fear you hear on the video). I'd been up in the trees for an hour, completing an obstacle course. Some people managed it just fine, but I was scared witless. Seven stories aboveground, inching across a thirty feet gap with nothing but a hair-thin steel wire to walk on, I distinctly remember thinking, "I PAID for this?"

Looks good. Have you tried sky diving/ bungie jumping etc? Forget extreme ironing, clearly this video marks the early steps on your road to "extreme-writing" super stardom.

I swear I typed this earlier but it appears to have vanished...

I wanted to ask Red_Phobos what exactly is wrong with extreme ironing? It ranks right up there with extreme dishwashing in my opinion. :P

Actually I did go bungie jumping once. It was fun, but very short lived. For me so far, the most fun has been white water river rafting - now that was a blast! :D

There's nothing wrong with it! I just find it highly amusing, especially given my general failure to do ironing of any form.

I'd love to do some more white water rafting, and want to try bungie jumping and sky diving. I'm vaguely enthused by cage-diving with Great Whites (though they scare me silly). One thing I don't fancy is this thing they do in NZ, where you're in a giant bubble ( I think with a load of water + another person), before being rolled down a large hill. Sounds like it would make me woozy!

Sorry Red_Phobos, I wanted to make sure, you do know I was joking. We are a strictly iron on demand family, and I hate washing dishes.
