I’d have to utterly agree: Halo is the pinnacle of First Person Shooters, hands down. (Not that those exact words were used.) A good portion of my life was spent on that game and the sequels, i.e., Halo 2 and Halo 3. I competed in a number of local LAN competitions for Halo 1, but when Halo 2 was released I was extremely disappointed, finding it coming up short in every comparative way to its predecessor. Halo 3 on the other hand was a fine piece of work. Maybe it doesn’t have the same curse inducing effects on you and your friends as Halo: CE, but it's definitely cause for an occasional post mortem desecration. Forgive my nostalgia for Halo 1: Backpack Reload, Double Melee, portal killing, grenade jumping, oh and let’s not forget blowing weapons to you via grenades on such classics like Damnation, Chill Out, Hang ’Em High, etc.

As for Doom, that was one of the first for me.

I loves me some Haloz. Just tried out the new maps last night. I actually thought H2 was the best of the series, but mostly because I spend most of my time in multiplayer with friends, and H2 revolutionalized the way online console games should be played, with their excellent party and matchmaking system. H3 is great, but it's not revolutionary quite like H2 was.

Call of Duty 4 is also addicting as heck due to its RPG twist (unlocks, prestige levels, challenges, perks, etc.). Other than that I am playing a little Chromehounds and Burnout Paradise.

If anyone wants to look me up on the 360, my gamertag is "OCD Mojo". I am also a member of a website for mature gamers, geezergamers.com.

I Think I'm also a bit 'Old School'. Shoot 'em Ups to me always conjure images of horizontal scrollers like Gradius, Parodius, R-Type, Pulstar or vertical scrollers like SWIV, Super Aleste, 1943 etc. Smile

Last run and gun I played was BioShock on the 360 which had a really great atmosphere to it, I love it. I also still play Doom 2 and Shadow Warrior (Who want some Wang!).
