I waited a very long time for a Sword from Red Ice and it appears from the read so far, their is no sign of the story ending. Does anyone know how long it will take for the next book to come out.

JV mentions in a topic about Book 4 that she expects the release to be sometime in 2009. I'm going to go lose my mind waiting, I've already decided. I already can't wait. **impatient** lol

@nightstar: gosh, d'ya have any other option than waiting at hand?
It's finished when it's finished so don't you urge our precious Julie Jones.
She might grow some nasty ideas for YOUR dearest character in revenge, you know?

I completely sympathise - I screamed in anguish when I was 3/4 though the book and realised that it wouldn't be a trilogy, like Book of Words. Especially given the huge wait for Red Ice to come out.

I experienced it the same. I wondered all the time: When will the strings connect? Where is the solution? What do I miss? And it turns out, the wheel is still turning slowly. Not much "happened" in SfRI, didn't it? Lots of traveling, growing and positioning...

I'm happy to wait for as long as jvj needs to finish book 4. It mustve been at least 2 years before I finally got my hands on Book 3 after I discovered both the author and the series and it was well worth the wait.
I'd rather wait 3 years and have another book as strong as book 3 was then wait 12 months and have something which was rushed to keep people happy.
You can tell those books that are written to an ideal and those that are written to a deadline, if that makes sense. It does to me anyway.

I was waiting for absolute ages for the third installment of this series - I had read Fortress of Grey Ice sometime in 2004 or so, and amazon told me the third was going to be released in December 2006. Then the date kept getting pushed back, and by middle of 2007 I had given up lol.
So, the only way to avoid impatience is to read other series' and other authors until one day, like what happened with the third book, I stumble across the next one having forgotten about it in a book shop .
