I just finished reading the second book in the Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks. The books are titled: The Way of Shadows, Shadow's Edge, and Beyond the Shadows.

There isn't really much new in terms of plot devices (set in its own world; magic is present; weapons are swords, lances, poisons, etc; transportation is by feet, cart, horse or magic). However, the characters are well written and interesting. I think the characters are the main driving force behind the Night Angel Trilogy. If you are looking for an entertaining read, try this series.
