Anyone participating this year?

http://www.nanowrimo.org if you've not heard of it before - it's a challenge to write 50,000 words in one month, between the 1st November and the 30th. No editing, just charging ahead, maximising your word count. I'm taking part again, fourth year in a row. My previous attempts have been scuppered by work but hopefully this year's going to be the one!

No, I wouldn't be able to compete in all honesty. Some very creative turbo-typists out there :-) Might have a go next year once me wee one is in kinder.

I have competed in NaNoWriMo once.
It was after the deadline, actually - I found the book that shows you how to "compete" during any month of the year. I started on Dec. 7 and finished on Christmas, though I wasn't due to write The End until Jan. 7
I give great praise to this system and have discovered hidden parts of the writer in me as well as some very independent characters.
It's definitely something to look into if you need a little boost in your writing or just want to write for a month straight to see what you can come up with.
