Hi Paul and JVJ, I have a website www.sffnews.com that is a hobby of mine and I have plenty of space if you need a place to host a add free message board. This board uses phpbb and if you have acess(you may have to contact freeforums.org) to the files and database you may be able to import the posts and members to a new phpbb set up there. If your interested let me know and i'll send you the server details and pw so you can see if it's possible. Just use the email addy I used to register here.

Chris seems to have a good offer. I would be fine with a change even if it ment that we lost what we have written.

But I also like our current site and I don't mind the advertising so I am neutral and open to whatever course you take.

I've only just seen your message, Chris. That's a generous offer and we really appreciate it.

Currently there's no facility available at FreeForums.org to make an archive of the board's database. In fact, it now seems they charge a fee for this service. This despite the fact they advertise downloadable backups as part of their free service. Yeah, you've gotta love these guys! Confused

Thanks to you too, Ed. We appreciate your support.

How much do they charge? The more I see about those people the less I like. If reasonable to be considered, I'd donate a bit via paypal if that helps to get away from f(r)eeforums quicker Confused
These guys don't deserve this community.

In this regard at least, Souldrinker, I may have been a little hard on Freeforums.com. Apparently, the backup feature will be restored once they have completed their transition to the next version of the board's software.

We shall see!
