Ahoy!

Hello everyone, i come here from the state of unstable weather, colorado!

I elected to sign up for this forum first because i am a huge JVJ fan, and secondarily as an escape from the battlefields of the warhammeralliance forums.

I have been a reader as long as i can remember (honestly i mean that, one of the very few things i remember from elementary school is playing the violin, and reading hardy boys books). My first JVJ book was The Baker's Boy, and of course the rest of the series, which still is on my list of favorite series.

I was given the first book from a very good friend who is an avid fantasy reader, even moreso than me. I'll admit that for a long while i was under the (false) impression that female fantasy authors were incapable of writing a book that didn't involve a Mary Sue. He told me to stop being a twit, and read this, he also gave me some Robin Hobb novels. Needless to say, between Hobb and Jones, i was shown the idiocy of my previous views.

It pains me to say it, but i still haven't gotten around to reading A Sword from Red Ice. I bought the hardcover as soon as i saw that it was out, and since its been something like 4 years since i read fortress, i wanted to re-read the originals first as a refresher.

As for the rest of me. I play lots of PC games, mainly MMO's which i've been playing for the better part of a decade. I also am a music lover, specifically in the area of EBM/Synthpop, and i also plays drums, albeit not as well as i'd like to. I am a rabid forum whore, and probably spend too much time on them (what can i say though, i like to argue).

As for my favorite authors, in no particular order:

Raymond E Feist
George RR Martin
Brian Lumley
JV Jones
Robin Hobb
Jim Butcher
Michael Crichton
James Rollins

Welcome. I love online games, but a.) Their addictiveness scares me and b.) my connection speed is currently so poor that there's no point me trying to play. If I could, I'd be out there dying on Counterstrike...

I highly recommend you try Scott Lynch if you haven't already. Excellent books.
